Service Description

||A Special Summer Immersion Workshop || Queer Clay & Mindfulness in May led by artist Fredi Lopez. In this course we will explore and expand on our own identities, our communal identities and our personal experiences to create meaningful hand built projects based on the concepts of queer community and the art of “queer failure” initially coined by Jack Halberstam . We will push past our notions of working and creating “good” work and will create 2 projects during the span of 3 weeks. In this course we will also ritually do a community check in as a class and discuss our ideas that we are working through, as well as why we are creating this work in the first place. We will aim to push past our known ideas of working with ceramics, and aspire to break through the limits of texture, technique, and concept. This course will meet twice a week for 3 weeks and will end with a celebratory session on the 4th week. || Weekly Description || May 4 & 5 | Week 1 - Medium Vase This week we will begin our introductions ourselves, our work, our passions and our challenges.
