The Rituals you put your energy into are what shape your life.

Are you shaping your life?

Or is life shaping you?

Shaping Rituals is an online ceramics experience led by Kelly and Ivan of Artillery AG + Ceramics.

Through five guided lessons, you'll explore how to create a sacred creation space called your artist portal, build a pinch-pot vessel with intention, decorate and burnish your piece and prepare for a pit firing.

Whether you're new to clay or looking for a more intentional creative practice, this course invites you to begin with what you have and discover what becomes possible when you make space to create.

What you'll learn:

  • How to carve out a simple home creative space.

  • How to build a vessel using the pinch-pot technique.

  • How to burnish and decorate your piece.

  • How to explore pit firing.

  • How to bring more creativity and intention into everyday life.

Meet Your Guides: Ivan Lopez & Kelly Elizabeth

For over 15 years, Ivan Lopez and Kelly Elizabeth have explored the intersection of clay, ritual, art, and our relationship with the natural world. As artists, educators, and co-creators of Artillery AG + Ceramics in San Francisco’s Mission District, they share a belief that working with the earth can be a pathway to connection, reflection, and meaningful creative practice.

Through their work with clay, sacred altars, and community-centered arts, Ivan and Kelly invite people to slow down, honor their intentions, connect with ancestral traditions, and create objects that hold personal meaning. Their approach weaves together hands-on making, environmental stewardship, and community care, making creative practice accessible to beginners and experienced artists alike.

Shaping Rituals grew from this shared vision: to bring the grounding experience of working with clay into everyday life and remind us that creativity can be a ritual of connection—with ourselves, our communities, and the earth.
