We are a community engaged in uplifting our Mission District community and not just a pottery studio. We would like to share our top picks for 2023 Christmas Shopping. After taking a pottery class go support local businesses that are within walking distance. 




Mixcoatl SF

Mixcoatl specializes in authentic, original Indigenous handmade arts, jewelry, and clothing from all the Américas. They want to share their culture and keep our  traditions alive. 


Mixcoatl is an Aztec name in the náhuatl language, and it means "The Milky Way." The Milky Way is many stars blended into one galaxy. This Is symbolic to us because our dream and vision is to bring together many Indigenous cultures to represent in one store.



Our Highlights:

Say Hi to Connie and Ricardo! Find fun gifts like ornaments, incense,  ponchos, oil fragments, fine silver jewelry and so much more.


We think we have lots of ceramics goodies that go well with lots of their products. Or you can come make your own vessels that compliment what you find there. 


Join them Friday, December 22, 2023 4pm-8pm for a Christmas Sale and Posada where you can receive 15% off your total purchase during their celebration. They will have musica, ponche, a pinata and pan. See you there! 











Discodelic Record Store

They specializes in Vinyl from Latin America and Caribbean countries, offering Latin Soul, cumbia, salsa, boleras, cuban music, reggae, and more. 


A newer store in the mission that aims to create music for the Latinx population in the mission offers a wide range of Latin American and Caribbean music. This store also releases music under its label also called Discodelic, which you can find and listen to in the store.


Our Highlights:

Check out their instagram for their upcoming events that are a blast! They also provide a listening station to try out vinyls before purchasing.  












Medicine For Nightmares Bookstore and Community Event Space

Medicine for Nightmares: A gem of the mission offers empowering books for people of all ages. They have an online store as well as in person and can even order books that you might be interested in. Large range of genres and a space in the back that is used for community events like concerts, open mic nights, poetry reading, and many more.

Precita Eyes

A community-based, inner-city mural arts organization devoted to enriching and beautifying urban environments through community mural collaborations. They have been contributing to the art in the mission since the 70s and offer a great collection of postcards, mugs, hoodies, T-shirts, books, artwork and paint. 


Our Recommendation: Check out their mural tours on their website!


Evolved SF

A Mission Based gallery who’s mission  to have people “believe in the impact of art and storytelling”They currently have a “Meet their artist” series which is a rotating display of local artist and you can learn about them .


Our Recommendation: They have handmade clothes, jewelry and affordable prints and host a variety of events ;  check out their instagram to stay in the loop.
