Look on calendar at booking now.
Week 1: Introduction
Studio tour, wedging, and centering on the wheel. In this first class, you are not trying to make a vessel to keep, but rather just exploring your relationship with the clay.
Week 2: Centering
Master wedging and centering. This week you’ll aim to make and keep a vessel to be trimmed the following week.
Week 3: Trimming
You will refine your vessel(s) through trimming, where excess clay is removed.
Week 4: Practice / Make-Up Day
Practice what you have been learning the past 3 weeks with an instructor by your side.
We receive many student requests for make-up classes for our small team to accommodate. Thank you for understanding that this class will serve as the make-up for any students who have to miss another class.
Week 5: Glazing
The pieces that you trimmed on week three will be ready for glazing by your last session. Your instructor will teach you the fundamentals of brush-on glazing, and you’ll glaze the pieces that are ready.
Independent Studio Day Pass (Included)
When your last vessels have been bisqued fired, you’ll come in to glaze them 2-3 weeks after. Most of the time, pieces that you make after Week 3/4 will not be ready before glaze day, but that is why you get a glazing studio pass.
Studio Pass Access During 5 Week Course (For folks who will sign up for a 3 month membership after the course. Email - ceramics@artillery-ag.com to get set-up with a studio tour and shelf. )
