Winter Solstice and Café Launch: A Community Celebration of Art, Warmth, and New Beginnings || San Francisco Pottery Studio Chronicles

Community members buying warm beverages and art.

This winter solstice, Artillery AG came alive with creativity, connection, and celebration as we hosted our Winter Solstice Sidewalk Sale alongside the opening of our Café Gallery — and we’re grateful to say it was a beautiful success.

Although rain was in the forecast, the day held steady. Clouds hovered and the air stayed crisp, but the rain never truly arrived. Instead, we were gifted a calm winter day that allowed neighbors, artists, and friends to gather comfortably on the sidewalk and inside the studio — the perfect setting for a solstice celebration rooted in warmth and community.

A Sidewalk Filled With Art & Makers

The sidewalk sale featured handmade ceramics and artwork created by Artillery AG members, turning the front of the studio into a lively outdoor gallery. Tables lined Mission Street, inviting passersby to stop, browse, and connect directly with the artists.

From functional ceramics to sculptural pieces and meaningful gifts, the sale showcased the depth of creativity within our community. Many pieces found new homes, making the day especially special for the artists who shared their work.

Winter Solstice Clay Activity

More than anything, the Winter Solstice Sidewalk Sale reminded us why community spaces matter. Longtime members, first-time visitors, neighbors, and artists gathered easily and organically. Despite the winter chill — and the rain that never came — the energy remained warm.

We Also offered a free clay activity for community members who came in to enjoy some drinks and look at art creating a self lead clay activity creating an offering to the four elements of the earth and were able to take this peice with intentions of gratitude and the start of the winter solcist leading into the new year.

This event reflected Artillery AG’s mission to create accessible spaces where art, culture, and community grow together.

Gratitude & Looking Ahead

We’re deeply thankful to:

Our artists and members who shared their work. Everyone who showed up, supported artists, and celebrated with us. The community that continues to uplift creative spaces like Artillery AG

The Winter Solstice felt like both a celebration and a beginning — honoring the season while opening the doors to Third Space and everything ahead.

✨ Thank you for celebrating with us. We can’t wait to welcome you back.
